Play the hits.
A collection of projects I still love, but aren’t exactly recent.
HOPE Crew Identity
HOPE Crew is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in partnership with the Corps Network. HOPE Crew connects youth corps with preservation projects at historic sites and national parks across the country. In its first year, HOPE Crew supported more than $3 million in preservation work at 37 historic places.
In November 2013, I began development on several options for a HOPE Crew mark and this was the final result. The logo has now appeared on t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, and outreach materials. In 2014, it was recognized by GD USA in the InHouse Design Awards issue.
As of 2021, this mark was still in use.
2016 Federal Hall Intervention Campaign
In 2016, the National Trust for Historic Preservation partnered with the National Park Service and American Express to elevate visibility for Federal Hall Memorial on Wall Street. Using the “This Place Matters” campaign platform, we planned an “intervention campaign” to heighten visibility of this often overlooked place on one of America’s busiest streets. Once inside, an updated interpretation experience treated visitors to a self-guided tour through the birthplace of American government.
In 2016, visitation increased 86% YOY compared to 2015.
PastForward 2016 Branding
Moving into PastForward 2016 in Houston, the conference needed a vibrant and dynamic look to reflect the culture and diversity of the host city. The final creative solution is inspired by the midcentury modern architecture and unique fabric of Houston—an unexpected and surprising perspective of the city.
